The Versatility Award is given by the Border Terrier Club of America, and recognizes achievements in a variety of dog activities that are perfectly attuned to the skills that Borders were bred for. It is open to both pets and champions.
To earn the award, a Border must have one title in three of these fields for a total of seven points: |
|
-
Obedience and Rally
-
Tracking
-
Field
-
Agility
-
Breed
-
Flyball
-
Search and Rescue
Earning the Versatility Award takes a considerable amount of time and effort by dog and owner, and only about thirty Borders earn it each year. It’s not surprising that most dogs are five or six years old before they accomplish it. Happily, Reggie earned his in July 2005, at the tender age of three. He went on to earn his Versatility Excellent Award in August 2007.
Halo earned her Versatility Award in March 2008. She wasn't content to let her brother beat her because she won her award at just 2 1/2! |
